Tell us what you're looking for: post your criteria to the finder network
Don't have a specific property yet? Tell us the market and what would actually work, and your criteria go straight to Zi-Find's finder network. We also email you the moment properties in that market go live, so you don't have to wait for the right thing to show up in the marketplace.
How to post a request
- Open your Dashboard and find What you're looking for (it is also under Account then My criteria).
- Click Add one.
- Fill in what matters to you:
- City (required) and State
- Beds, at least and Baths, at least
- Max rent
- Areas that work, such as "North side, inner suburbs"
- Property type: Apartment, Townhome, Single-family, Condo, or any type
- Needed by: as soon as possible, or within 30, 60 or 90 days
- Click Send it.
You will see "Got it. We'll work on getting a match for" your city. Posting a request also saves that market for you, which is what our new-listing emails are matched against.
When a finder responds
Finders who have something for you reply on the request itself. Under each request you will see a line for each finder conversation with their first name and how many messages it holds. Click it to open the conversation, type in the reply box, and click Send reply. Your contact details stay private while you talk; the conversation runs through Zi-Find until you decide to share them.
Closing a request
Found what you needed? Click the small X on the request to close it. Closed requests stop going out to finders. We keep the record of what you asked for, but it no longer appears as open demand.
Who can post requests
Posting requests is included with Pro Host and Elite Host. If your plan does not include it, the box shows an Upgrade to Elite Host button instead.
Good to know
- Be specific. "3+ bed townhome near the hospital, under 2,800 a month, within 60 days" gets better results than "anything in Dallas".
- You can post several requests, one per market.
- A request is not a guaranteed match. It tells the network what to look for; you still decide on every property.
- Zi-Find never takes a cut of a deal that comes from a request. Any finder fee is agreed between you and the finder.
What's the difference between a request and a submission?
A request describes what you want and lets the network search for it. A submission is a specific property (a Zillow link or address) you want the network to work toward a written approval. Submissions use your monthly search allowance. See Submitting a property.
