Changing your plan: upgrades, downgrades and annual billing

4 min read · Updated 2026-10-19

To upgrade, open Account, go to Billing, and click Change plan. Pick the higher plan and confirm. Zi-Find changes the price on the subscription you already have, charges the difference straight away, and switches the new features on immediately. You never end up paying for two plans at once.

How to upgrade

  1. Click Account in the sidebar and open the Billing tab.
  2. Click Change plan.
  3. The page shows the plans for the workspace you are in. If you hold more than one role, switch to the right workspace first, using Switch workspace at the top of the sidebar.
  4. Pick the plan you want and, for operator plans, monthly or annual.
  5. Confirm. You are charged the prorated difference for the rest of your current billing period.

Finders upgrading to Pro+ land back in their finder workspace, ready to use the new limits.

Moving to a lower plan

Downgrades are self-serve too, and they take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Open Change to a lower plan at the bottom of the Billing tab. It takes a few deliberate steps: see what you give up, tell us why, then tick that you understand and type the new plan's name. The options offered depend on your plan:

FromCan move to
Elite Host (annual)Elite Host (monthly), Pro Host (annual) or Pro Host (monthly)
Elite Host (monthly)Pro Host (monthly)
Pro Host (annual)Pro Host (monthly)
Finder Pro+Finder Pro

Before you confirm, the page lists what you give up and the date the change happens. You keep your current plan, and everything in it, until then. Nothing is charged or refunded today. After you confirm, a banner on the Billing tab shows the pending change, and Keep my current plan cancels it any time before that date.

If you are on an older Pro+ price, the move to Finder Pro is only offered when it is actually cheaper than what you pay now.

Changes that still go through our team

  • Pro Host annual to Elite Host monthly.

Sign in and open Help, or use the chat bubble in the bottom corner.

Switching to annual

If your plan has an annual price, Switch to annual appears on your Account page and Dashboard. It changes the plan you already have to annual billing straight away: you are charged the annual price today, less the unused part of your current month, and your renewal date moves a year out.

What happens when you upgrade

  • Charged now. The difference is billed immediately rather than at your next renewal, so you get the new plan today.
  • Same subscription. Your plan's price is swapped on your existing subscription. Your renewal date stays tied to that subscription.
  • Trials end. If you are in a trial on your current plan, upgrading ends the trial and starts the paid plan right away.
  • Declined card, no change. If the charge fails, nothing changes. You stay on your current plan and can try again after updating your card.

Good to know

  • Operator and finder plans are separate. Upgrading one never changes the other.
  • Paying while signed in always attaches to the account you already have.
  • If Change plan says it could not find your subscription, or that it needs a manual change, contact us through Help and we will sort it out.

FAQ

Will I lose anything when I upgrade?

No. Higher plans include everything in the plan below them.

Can I go back down later?

Yes. Open Change to a lower plan at the bottom of the Billing tab and follow the steps. The lower plan starts at the end of your current billing period, and you keep the higher plan until then.

I have a Pro+ plan from before the current price.

You can stay on it. If you choose to move to the current Finder Pro+, it is the same in-place switch on your existing subscription.
