How Zi-Find verifies listings and submissions
Finder listings go live the moment you submit them. Zi-Find checks them in three other ways: you confirm the owner's written approval when you list, the owner is asked to confirm directly when you list on their behalf, and every listing is re-confirmed about every two weeks. Properties you send to the Paid by Zi-Find board are different — a person reviews each one by hand before anything is paid.
What happens when you list
- Finder listings (properties you found, and lease transfers) publish instantly with the status Active. There is no waiting queue.
- Owner-direct listings (a landlord listing their own property) start as Pending review and go live after a quick check.
- Before any listing publishes you tick I confirm I have documented landlord approval for subletting this property, and you can link the approval document.
Owner confirmation
When you list a property for an owner (ticking I'm listing this for the owner), the owner becomes the contact on the listing and Zi-Find emails them one question: do they permit the property to be sublet on a short-term and mid-term basis? They answer with one click and don't need an account.
- If they say yes, the listing is recorded as owner-confirmed.
- If they say no, the listing is taken down.
- If they don't answer, they get reminders.
On Earnings, credited properties that are waiting on the owner show the blocker and an Ask the owner button (or Remind the owner once asked), so you can send the request yourself.
Changes requested
If the Zi-Find team spots a problem with a listing, its status changes to Changes requested and the listing page shows an Admin note explaining what to fix. Edit the listing, fix it, and save.
Ongoing checks
Every active listing is re-confirmed about every two weeks by email. If two check-ins go unanswered, the listing is paused until you relist it. See The "still available?" check.
Board submissions are reviewed by hand
Nothing on the board clears on its own. A Zi-Find reviewer contacts the owner, checks the approval against the five standard gates, and decides Cleared or Did not clear. Either way you get gate-by-gate feedback. See What counts as written sublease approval and Board feedback and getting paid.
Good to know
- The Verified mark on a public deal-finder profile means the finder's email address is confirmed. It is not a review of their listings.
- Zi-Find checks that approval exists and holds up; it does not give legal advice about a lease or local rules.
- Listing not showing up? See Listing not appearing.
Do you check every listing's paperwork before it goes live?
No. Finder listings publish on your confirmation so good inventory isn't held in a queue. The checks above happen around that: your confirmation, owner confirmation, and regular availability checks.
